After Dr. Alsawah graduated from the University of Damascus School of Medicine in Syria, he completed his internal medicine residency at Saint Joseph Mercy Hospital in Pontiac, Michigan. Later, he trained in hematology and medical oncology as a fellow at the William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan, and subsequently received board certification in internal medicine and oncology.
Samir Alsawah, MD, was a specialist in hematology, internal medicine, and oncology at Cancer Care Associates in Royal Oak, Michigan before joining the Huron Medical Center in Port Huron, Michigan as a private practitioner. He also serves on many committees and acts as consultant to numerous hospitals in the area such as Port Huron Hospital, Mercy Hospital, and River District Hospital.
A respected clinical investigator, Dr Alsawah’s research in relative nontoxic chemotherapy regimens for metastic breast cancer was presented at the Annual San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium and published in Breast Cancer Research and Treatment. Additionally, he has directed numerous industry-sponsored clinical trials to evaluate the safety and efficacy of a wide range of novel anticancer agents.
